Welcome

¡Hola! I'm Hannah, founder & CEO of HKSpanishtutoring. I am a qualified Spanish Teacher, with a BA (hons) in Spanish. I teach primary students (age 5+), KS3 students (years 7-9), GCSE students, A level students and adult learners. I am a former MFL KS3 Engagement Leader and MFL teacher and have worked in several secondary schools in both Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, a secondary school in Madrid and have tutored children, students and adults for several years. My team and I have a strong track record of improving students’ Spanish exam results, proven by a 100% pass rate for GCSE Spanish, with 60% of our students achieving grades 7 - 9 (A - A**) in 2023.

We are based in Buckinghamshire, and are proud to receive a high percentage of our clients as a result of word-of-mouth, many of whom attend local schools including independent, grammar and comprehensive schools. Such schools include; Berkhamsted Boys School, Berkhamsted Girls School, Dr Challoner's High School, Dr Challoner's Grammar School, Claires Court School, Aylesbury Grammar School, Aylesbury High School, Chesham Grammar School, Beaconsfield High School, Sir William Borlase's Grammar School, Pipers Corner School, Tring School, The Misbourne School, Great Marlow School and Amersham School. We also receive a high number of students based in London schools.

I am proud to work with a team of qualified and experienced associate Spanish tutors, providing private Spanish lessons for primary children (age 5+), KS3 students, GCSE students, A level students and adult learners. My team and I have prior or current experience working in several secondary schools and/or professional language services in both the UK & Spain (grammar & comprehensive), and have tutored children, students and adults for several years. We are all native English speakers, fully-qualified Spanish teachers with prestigious language degrees & qualifications. We have a shared passion for teaching the Spanish language to children and adults of all ages. We can also offer French and Italian tuition, subject to availability.

About HKSpanishtutoring

How do we teach?

Our team endeavour to not only provide high-quality first teaching, but to inspire all of our clients to recognise the incredible rewards gained from learning another language. We have a modern, dynamic and enthusiastic teaching style, with a bank of professional resources which we have utilised in schools. We continually develop engaging and exclusive teaching, learning and revision resources, of which all clients of HKSpanishtutoring have free and unlimited access. Such resources include; an AQA GCSE Spanish revision timetable, an AQA GCSE Spanish knowledge organiser, tailored Quizlet sets for specific GCSE Spanish syllabuses and exclusive tailor-made lessons for KS3 and GCSE Spanish curriculums. We pride ourselves on bringing endless energy and enthusiasm to each and every Spanish lesson, whether they be in person or online. We take advantage of an interactive whiteboard and a variety of animated Spanish teaching resources which we have found highly successful in improving confidence, igniting interest and increasing vocabulary retention. For all online lessons, we teach via either Google meet or Zoom.

Parents and tutees often ask if, or how, lesson notes and resources are shared with students after each lesson. We understand the importance of retaining and organising lesson materials for revision purposes. As a result, HKSpanishtutoring tutors create a running google slides presentation for individual tutees, on which all lesson notes, links, worksheets and screenshots are uploaded at the end of each lesson. If requested, we may also set additional tasks/practise/homework on the last slide, alongside any notes and comments relevant to each student. This is shared via email with the tutee, ensuring all lesson resources, instructions and feedback are organised and easily-accessible for both the tutor and tutee.

Who do we teach and where are we based?

Due to the nature of being an online education service, we are not limited to our local area and teach a number of children, students and adults based in all areas of the UK and Ireland, and offer international homeschooling in countries including Dubai and Hong Kong.

Although a high proportion of our clientele are school students, we are delighted to see our adult learner lessons growing in popularity and in response to this demand, we offer early bird 'before work' classes, 1-1 day-time & evening classes and an adult beginners group class.

Why choose HKSpanishtutoring for Spanish tuition?

The HKSpanishtutoring team have a strong track record of improving students’ Spanish exam results, proven by a 100% pass rate for GCSE Spanish, with 60% of students achieving grades 7 - 9 (A - A**) in 2023. We are a select group of energetic, native English professional linguists, with credible reputations and a shared passion for delivering high-quality, enjoyable Spanish lessons. All tutors have prior professional or academic connections to the founder, and have been specifically recruited to the team as a result of having extremely similar teaching styles and techniques, demonstrating values and skills congruent with all whom represent HKSpanishtutoring. We enjoy building strong rapport with our clients of all ages, specialising in teaching primaryKS3 (years 7-9) GCSE, A level and beginner adult learners. We are well acquainted with the demands of the National Curriculum in England and the format and requirements of secondary school examinations, and are particularly familiar with the AQA & Edexcel syllabus. However we provide quality exam preparation for all GCSE and A level exam boards. As English native speakers, having started our own Spanish-learning journeys at school, we have acquired an acute understanding of the foreign language-learning process and are therefore able to offer unique insight and support into all aspects of our clients' journey towards fluency. We are well-accustomed to recognising the most difficult stages of learning the Spanish language and fast at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of our tutees. We aim to leave clients feeling more confident with their Spanish from the very first lesson. We are proud to have received a multitude of 5* testimonials and although my team and I do not guarantee grades, we are delighted to share that our school students consistently achieve above their EPGs (Expected Predicted Grades) & a high percentage have achieved a grade 7+ in their GCSE Spanish exams. Student 'shout-outs', last-minute availability, updates, testimonials and content are regularly posted on our Instagram blog.
